The Oplan Tagataguyod
The effectiveness and importance of the Community affairs and development Master plan “Tagataguyod” of PNP is determined by how well law enforcement officers interact with the communities they serve. Learn about police-community relations to understand their importance and comparisons. The references begin in the transformation program called PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030. This plan is one of the products of community engagement, partnership, and participation between Police and the people they serve; in addition, they made the Community and service-oriented policing (C.S.O.P. System) of the NAPOLCOM This is the triumvirate partnership of PNP, L.G.U.’S, Local Executive, and the Citizenry. The program is also anchored to the PCR Master plan of 2002 and QUAD Concept policing.
The Master plan strategies are to intensify community support, raise positive trust and perception, create safer and more secure communities, and effective crime prevention and crime solution activities; as of now, we are in the era of the technological revolution we should adapt to our fast-changing environment through technological shifts, socio-cultural transformation and intensified police-community partnership through social media or cyberspace.
Our plan was anchored to 2 pronged strategies for internal and external audiences called “Santinig” and “Sambayan,” particularly for Information and communication, community organizing, and mobilization.
The Oplan Tagataguyod has a quad concept of operation, the composition of Investigation, Intelligence, operation, and Police community relations. The PNP give priority to Police community relation. They redesign the square into a triangle for the paradigm shift of leveling up to sustain and expand a sense of Community. Because of the P.C.A.D. Master plan police community relation has a new face. All sides are more purposive towards the Community and significantly contribute to local and National Development. The strategical concepts are more logical, flexible, and consistent with strategy. The goal and aim are to support and advocate the reflected inherent Filipino character, which stands and leads to making a cohesive community, infuses the importance of social awareness and cultural understanding, acknowledges the crucial contribution of the family core of the Community, uses communication innovation, enhancement community engagement and sustains community support.
In our master plan called Community affairs and development “Tagataguyod,” the PNP aims to harmonize programs and projects, engage, lead, and influence the communities towards achieving better public order and safety in support of the operational quad concept to make good police-community relationship and to have, a basic police competency, wherein the Police is a role model and show to people how servant leader exist in the Community.
Based on my realization of the master plan. The fundamental keys to successful law enforcement are good police-community relations or the relationship between the Police and the communities they serve. Good police-community relations are imperative for developing trust between Police and citizens. Without this trust, police work becomes much less effective. Therefore, the enhancement of PCR is very effective and critical to successful law enforcement.
